I just downloaded a New App to my computer for Windows 8.1. Its called OverDrive. Its for reading and allows you to borrow books from library's. Here is the Awesome Part though.. instead of just One Counties Library System.. you get to Borrow from anywhere in the world. You can access any database of ebooks or audiobooks and its all free, cause your Borrowing them! All you need is a library card that is in Good Standing.

I personally am thinking that this may just turn out to be the best thing ever... cause well... I like FREE BOOKS. In fact most of the books that I have read lately have been free. I like to think of it as being economical with my money. The Truth is I just really like to read...and am not willing to pay a high price for a book that has been out for a while.

I have added a link for you to download it here: OverDrive

I also included a video here to the right that is going to show you how to have the books sent to your Kindle Device with out you having to use Amazon.

Hope that your enjoy it, and hope your get a lot of books read!

Time of the Eagle by Sherryl Jordan

In this story of the triumph of good over evil, You meet Avala a sixteen year old Shiani girl who has just become a woman in her tribe. Her mother is the Healer in her tribe and all Avala wants is to follow in her footsteps but fate and destiny have a different path for her.  On the night that she is pronounced a woman her entire life goes from being soft, warm, and surrounded by love to being a battle ground on which she will fight, even if that means her death. Standing for what she believes in is the easy part for Avala but choosing to walk the path that may lead to her death is hard. This path leads her to unexpected places and gives her even more trials.

This story gets 3 out of 4 Cups Of Joe, as the writing was good but there were some parts where it felt as thought the author was just speeding the reader along, and a few other where I really wasn't sure what was going on, I felt like I needed a dictionary. Written at the Young adult level, this book definitely makes up for those two things with the characterization, I really do feel as though if I look inside myself I would find a young girl just like Avala! :-)

There is not a link to buy this book but I am sure that you can get it at your local library!

Vampire Academy Series

A long time ago I used to work in a library and a children's librarian said that I should read the Vampire Academy Series. In my recent search of the library here in GA, where I now live I went ahead and decided to check it out. Boy am I glad that I did!!! I have never read any series of books that was so captivating. As you all know, I read a lot... but this series I finished in a week. All 6 Books!

Captured by the Guardians, Rose and Lissa are dragged back to St. Vladimir's Academy. A boarding school for Vampires where they are educated in the ways of magic. Rose is a Dhampir, a half-human who is trained to protect Lissa a Royal Moroi Princess and the last of her line. The Dhampir's, also known as the Guardians are suppose to protect the Moroi (the vampires) from the things that go bump in the night. The Strigoi are the most horrible blood-sucking vampires known to the world, they don't care if you are human, Dhampir or Moroi, they catch you and you are good as dead!

As Rose and Lissa become entwined in forbidden romance, Royal politics and crazy teen angst. They discover they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

With hidden powers and remarkable friendship on their side Rose and Lissa battle against not only their enemies but also their hearts... The question is can they win?
